First of all I agree with tacking in high school system. I never have experienced about tracking in my K-12. Education policy in Korea that it pursues the equality opportunity in education. Even if I graduate private school, there is any difference between private school and public school. We go to high school as lottery system. Basically we can’t go to high school where we want to go. So between the students in my class, there are a lot of academic level differences. For instance, one of my friends he got 2nd prize from world math competition, however he had to take same class with everyone in the school. Teacher has to follow the policy of department of education. They can’t teach outside of range in textbook. This one side education makes teacher lose their passion for their teaching. Also students don’t pay attention in class include myself, they already learn from private tutor. Because public education lost its faith from people.
I know we pursue equality in education, however I believe propel level studying depends on their academic status is more effective way. Everyone has their own dream and achieving those dreams has their own way to get.

Study Abroad
I am a native of South Korea which is where I completed my primary and secondary education. Therefore, sometime it is hard to understand the current issues which occur in high school. Even though I went schools as different culture, there exist some common problems wherever you are involved with. Last Thursday I could see lot’s of issues that people think them serious. The issue that I really want to deal with is the lack of teacher attention. I believe this is the common issue in all ages and countries.
The stem is from interesting. People tend to do more effectively to what they are interested with. We took lots of classes which we don’t really like to learn. My favorite courses have always been physics and mathematics because I found them to be fascinating. So I decided to study Engineering major. I was really pleased with taking physics and mathematics classes in my school days. However, my worst part in studying was writing. It was a nightmare that I am taking some literature classes in high school. I used to sleep in the class and even pay attention anything with my literature teacher. I went so far as to absent some classes. Some people claim the subjects which you hate to deal with are also important because of it comes from education for the whole man. I understand what they want to insist, however I have some different opinions. People who want to be a musician, they don’t really need to chemistry for their career. The mathematics is useless for painter.
Most of people in this class have own major in university. Apparently there will be existed someone who are interested with your major in high school. Why don’t we go to high school near the Berkeley and discuss with them for assisting. Although it won’t be perfect, at least we could answer their some questions and sharing specific stories with them.

Democratic community
I believe the less attendance makes our democratic community weaker. We all vote our nations president by election. What if only few people discussed and elected our representative by themselves? It won’t be democratic society. Participation is one of the most important points to make our democratic community. Actually most of classes I ever taken in Berkeley, I believe that the rate of attendance is less than 70 percents. I also didn’t attend my class sometimes. If we check our attendance by grading affect, the rate of attendance will be better than now. Some classes I went at every class, and some I went a few times in a month. Why does my behavior like this? In case, the class is helpful for me, my attendance is good, unless it is getting bad as class goes by.

Education in Technology
The internet calls people to come to class. The internet has being widely spread from late of 90s, we could see our life is going to more comfortable. This comfortable technology has been coming over to education field. Online class is one of the best examples of technology as education. Time stressed people fed up with commuting costs are already choosing online education.
Universities are also trying to make online classes more engaging by moving beyond simple reading homeworks and videotaped or live lectures. Also there are plenty of classes available on online in CAL. Some of my friends are taking online class of CAL in
I also had take online class in last summer. Most of online courses have good quality that compared with offline courses Although some of them are not, price of online classes is much less than offline. . Even online classes can waste precious time if the students don’t learn. As years goes by, the number of user is getting rapidly increased.

The Word about “Literacy as Power”
I would like to discussed about the power of literacy (writing, article) infects in these days. In Sylvia Scribner’s article “Literacy in Three Metaphors”, she contends her metaphor as “Literacy as Power”. Sylvia Scribner discusses about “literacy as power” compare with circumstance in social, economics and community. Between literacy and group or community advancement, she defined the ability of literacy how affects as measurement of wealth. In the last she suggested limit of the metaphor, due to difficulty to define social and political structure. I believe this author wrote this article in 1908s that still in cold war. She suggested some examples from the communist state. I will define the literacy for writing or articles not as ability for writing and reading. As time goes by, social and political circumstances have been changing rapidly, the power and role of literacy in the 21st century will be different with it in 80s. We discussed about computer society in class. In these days, a small piece of writing in the internet space will be countless affects in society. In the last winter, Korean police arrested a blogger who post some scripts on internet name as Minerva by outflow of false information. During the crisis of economics that starts in last fall, he wrote some of his foresights and opinions about the stock market. He insights correctly about Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch. People starts believe him as high educated man who was working for huge investment bank. This uneducated man’s article was even affects to price of stock market. Korean securities law forbids spreading false reports or rumors to influence share prices in the stock market. I don’t know his arrest is right or not. I am focused on the power of small writhing. Before the online world, we select the article based on who wrote this, who graduated where and where this guy works for.
